Over the past three years, some incredible vector art has been posted on Illustratorworld.com. It was inevitable that Illustratorworld.com would become a prime site for clients to find artistic talent. Many artists on IW were contacted for work.

However not all members who posted work on IW had actually worked as a professional illustrator or designer. Clients complained of less than professional behavior from some of the artists they found on Illustratorworld.com.

Therefore IAVAP has been formed to act as a verification service of sorts, to help prospective client to identify which members are professional graphic artists or designers.

NOTE: Client may still to contact whomever they wish. However this added service will alleviate some of the problems we experienced in the past.

Most of the work that professional create on a day to day basis, is not eye catching, innovative, amazing works of art. Rather than recognize a member solely for what they can do with the program, IAVAP seeks to identify members who are dependable, reliable, professionals.

The approval process is a review by your peers.

IAVAP members are reliable, dependable professionals who have at least one year of professional employment (or freelance work) in the graphic design , illustration or Flash field.

IAVAP members must provided at least two references who can be contacted by the IAVAP review group.

IAVAP members have a substantial body of work to display. At least 20 images.

IAVAP members work has been reviewed by peers (existing IAVAP members) for basic artistic merit.

The review committee exists of current IAVAP Chairman (or someone designated by him) and three other IAVAP members who are chosen based on their expertise and experience to best assess the applicants work.

How will prospective clients know if I have passed IAVAP verification?

On your gallery page, and on each individual image display page, a IAVAP member button will appear- indicating that you are an IAVAP verified professional. If a person clicks on that button, your IAVAP page will be displayed.

There is no cost for the review process. The only pre-requisite is that you must be an IW member (registration is free), list yourself as a professional, and must be a gold level member.
