Is there a way to transfer your personal Illustrator keyboard shortcuts and workspaces from CS3 to CS4. When I go into the Presets folder for CS3, my personal keyboard shortcuts and workspaces don't have their own file to copy from, just the default ones that came with Illustrator.

Help!

Thanks

I don't know but my first thought is that the Preferences file would hold that information. Copying the AIPrefs file from CS3 to CS4?

Where is this Preferences file located? I went through all the folders in both versions and was unable to locate this Preferences file.

On Windows it's in the User Files. In my case (Windows 7) it's:

C: Users/Username/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS3 Settings....AIPrefs

Unfortunately my directories are completely different as I am on a Mac. You would think something like this would be common enough for adobe to have an export file for your keys and workspaces.

Morribre,

A quick Google search produced this:

If you are running Mac OS X, find the Illustrator preferences file. Choose "Go to Folder..." under the Go menu when you are in the Finder (main screen) on your computer. Type in "~/Library/Preferences/" and then you will see the Preferences folder and the Adobe Illustrator CS settings.

Can you find it there?

So far, so good. I found the Prefs folder and copied it to a flash drive.

What I want to do is be able to install my prefs on any Mac I happen to be working on. At school, they automatically revert the preferences to default on a regular basis, so I (and my students) have to reset the preferences at the beginning of each class or whenever we work in an open lab.

Should just drop the new preferences into the Preferences folder before I start Illustrator? Should I rename the prefs to something like "My Preferences?"
