FAQs

Q: Who can take these classes?
A: Anyone who wishes to learn more about Illustrator or would like to improve their creative skills. You must register as an Illustratorworld.com member to take any class (registration is free)

Q: What if I've never used a computer?
A: No problem. One of the first course we've completed is for the complete beginner. It's written for both artists and non-artists that have little to no exposure with digital art.

Q: Are these courses accredited?
A: No. At this point our courses should be viewed as professional training. However we are working with several educational providers to include our courses as part of their overall curriculum. So courses taken on Illustratorworld.com may eventually be used towards a certificate or accredited program.

Q: Are classes free?
A: No. There are fees like any other professional training course you may take online or may obtain on DVD.

Q: How long will I have access to the course I order?
A: Part of the advantages of online courses is that you can fit them into your schedule. You can work with the course any time of the day, seven days a week. However you are expected to complete the course within a four month period. Your access to the course, class, or module you've purchased will expire after four months.

Q: Will you be adding more classes?
A: Yes. We will continually add classes. The current courses are only the first set of courses to be completed.

Q: Do I need high speed Internet?
A: Yes. We do not recommend taking our courses if you have dial-up connection to the Internet. While we keep video clips to under three minutes each to ensure smooth streaming, you will still need high speed connection to view the video.

Q: What other technical considerations should I be aware of?
A: The courses have been tested on the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox. Courses should work on both PC and Mac.

Q: What's the difference between a tutor and a mentor?
A: If you purchase tutor help with a course you will be able to e-mail your tutor with any questions you have relating to the course. You will also be expected to hand in exercises and projects to your tutor for evaluation and feedback. An Illustrator mentor provides much more one-on-one help and will work with you personally on whatever aspect of Illustrator you wish to cover in addition to questions you may have about the course you are taking.

Q: Can I get a tutor if I purchase an individual module?
A: No. You may only purchase tutor help when you purchase a complete course. Tutor help is not available if you purchase individual modules or classes.

Q: How long is my tutor available?
A: Your tutor is available to you for one month. All courses are designed to be completed in one month (for the most part). If you purchase a course with a tutor you should plan to complete the course in a month. You may still use all four months to complete any course. However you will not have tutor help after the first month.
