newbie here.. and my first day here.Mind blowing work. hey kevin can you just mention the tools and workflow in brief. am realy lost in this wonderful piece of work.

Thank you for the compliment. It's kind of hard to explain this briefly, but I'll try to give you the basics. I use 4 tools for something like this - Pen tool, Shape tools, Gradient Mesh tool, and Gradient palette. Also a few custom brushes and effects here and there when necessary. I use the Pen and Shape Tools to draw the various paths that make up the image. Then the Mesh tool and Gradient Palette to create the skin and lips. I'll usually have simple gradients and regular color fills to make the eyes. I might apply a Feather effect to paths there, which helps sometimes to make the eyes look properly recessed into the face. Then I apply some custom brushes for the hair and eyelashes to give them that "hairy" look. That's vastly simplified, but it's essentially the process. Thanks again! =)
