I was born in San Francisco a few weeks before the Cuban Missile Crisis. (I wasn't yet a month old and already in a world of trouble!) I was the second child of four kids and thought of by most of my family as the strange but quiet one. After a lackluster career in High School, I went off to Junior College and later enrolled in the Academy of Art College. There at the Academy, I earned a BFA degree in Illustration.
I'm currently an Adobe Certified Expert in Adobe Illustrator 10. Though since leaving school I've used many different graphic programs for the computer;. I've recently decided to focus on creating artwork in Illustrator. Vector based art allows for the widest range of final options and usage for my work. I can create artwork without worrying that it may be too big or too small for whatever print usage I may want to do with it later. Also the smaller file sizes vector art allows for easier transfer of my work over the Internet to vendors and clients.
Horny Clown
Description One major advantage/disadvantage of shooting your own models is going back through your backlog of images. When I shoot I come away with easily hundreds of images. Of course this means putting in hours of work going through them all, just to find a few worth working with. Usually one will just pop out at me and practically demand I do an illustration from it. There will be others though that are just as good but don't really speak to me as loudly at the time. They'll sit in my hard drive until I decide to revisit them later. For them their time doesn't come until much later. When I am ready for what they want to say.
This one was from one of my first photo shoots with my Nikon D50. It was when I was still trying to figure out how to use the damn thing and I took a bunch of pictures that were just crap! Still I walked away with a bunch that captured the fun and the humor of my model Big-Sock Tramp! BST was great to work with. We both had a lot of fun doing this shoot. (When I wasn't cursing my camera that is.)
We started with some classic Domme shots but I really thought she was the best when we started doing our sexy clown theme. Sometime a model will just turn on to an idea and a theme. That is when their personality will really come through in the image. For some Pin-Up illustrations I've seen, the model might just a well be a bowl of fruit. (Because that is how much personality the image is showing of them.) Some can be too formal or too cliché for me to enjoy. In this case though, Big-Sock Tramp was the perfect sexy clown. Even two years after the fact, I don't know who else I would have picked that could have done a better job of it.

Fun for kids AND adults! The tight rendering backed up by the custom photo reference, as usual, sets your work apart from the rest...as well as your detailed descriptions! Great work!
