Hi there,
usually I'm addicted to the 3D stuff - my primary software is Maxon Cinema 4D. I needed a time-out from all that and I started messing around with Illustrator and the Gradient Tool.
After I had an idea of how the gradient meshes are working I started to work on Charlize.
I used an Image of her to roughly trace the proportions. Later I overlay it only sometimes for check up.
At the end a little postwork in Photoshop was done to get rid of the wax-/airbrush-look, color-correction and a few single hairs and little details were added, too.
