How did you get the wavy engraved effect on the mountain?

That part was done in Photoshop with the Cutline filter. Then I place it in Ai and do a live trace on it to smooth out the effect, expand it, and color it with a custom paper swatch.

Cool. I'm going to have to experiment with that technique. It is a neat effect that will lend itself nicely to some screen print texture that I haven't used yet.

You'll need the Cutline plugin from Andromeda. You can do a similar effect by converting to bitmap and selecting the halftone pattern option but that only lets you do straight line halftone patterns. Cutline lets you do wavy, circular and has more control over where the lines are applied (and how thick)for highlights, shadows and midtones.
