I have been drawing all my life, and have been making a living in design for the past 16 years. I started out using Freehand, but once I tried Illustrator I was hooked.
Story Time
Description This is something that I wanted to illustrate since I took the picture last summer. My sister and her grandson were swapping stories and I was just lucky enough to get the shot.
I traced the images using the pen tool and on occasion, the pencil tool using a Wacom tablet. Then I used transparent colors, gradients and softened parts of them with a Gaussian Blur. I created a new brush to give it a hand-drawn quality and a unique feel.

Thanks Jason. This was really a different direction for me to go. This one took quite a bit of time, the hair is what really got me, but I'm really please with the way it turned out.
