She has a really striking face, so I wanted to capture that. I was going to leave it strictly straight-laced vector, but texture use was so tempting with this due to the composition.

First of all, brilliant, as always. Second- GREAT choice of subject. She truly is stunning, and you've only done her justice through your interpretation. I've always loved your illustration style, and completely agree with the addition of organic textures within the illustration. For this style of illustration, the texture is what changes this from "graphic design" to a "work of art".

Thank you!
Did you do all of this with vector art in Illustrator??? Just using the brushes and tools? I've never seen anything quite like this before. Such a wonderful fusion of organic texture and crisp line art. The color areas on the face look a bit patchy, but you've done an excellent job of capturing the expression of the model. I'm truly impressed.

Yeah pretty much. I also take a shape of a brush in photoshop and convert it to paths and export to Illustrator so it's all vector lineart. Then I use transparencies to blend in the textures.
