I love to draw, paint and of course create vector art for advertising, fashion and editorial print work. I also do a lot of public speaking and training, and am available for seminars or onsite training in Illustrator and Photoshop.
Blue Haze
Description This is johanna. She's a great model. Wind blowing- backed by blue, she wears summer well. I used more of the square mesh technique then I usually do (more than I feel comfortable using) - but oh well, got the illustration done (and I know her fingers are weird...).

A gorgeous mix of styles, Todd. This is the kind of piece that shows what an artistic ILLUSTRATION is, not just a closely-made mesh copy ... wait, I do that ... anyway, beautiful piece, talon-fingers aside ;)

Hey Stephen- thanks. I know what you mean. When I do mesh I DON'T want to make it photorealistic. In fact if I were to show you the photo, I chose a different skin tone altogether. What I want to do with mesh is achieved an illustrated look- not a photo look. So again, I get what you're trying to say and it IS a compliment in my book.

Glad you took it as such, since that's how I meant it!This piece has inspired me to try some new stuff with Illustrator ... as soon as I have time!
I am so going to steal this style of illustration and pass it off as my own. I love it... Quite frankly, I think this is one of your better pieces. Her face, her chest, her abdominal region, her arms... All beautifully rendered (I don't think the hand looks bad, but I suppose by comparison...).

Yo Mike! Lol, thanks for the compliment. I like the style too (see my comment to dmeza above) - I appreciate the kind words coming from such versatile artist.
Love this style you've been using. The different line elements you use and the way you block out the hair make it more of an abstract piece than a figurative. Thats why I love it! I didn't even notice the fingers, they look good to me.

thanks man. Yeah, I like the style too.... I originally did it because 1) the flat colors really allowed the mesh to stand out (main reason), 2) I didn't want to do just re-create photos, and 3) it cuts down on production time which makes using mesh a viable tool even for commercial projects. I think I'll keep the style; ) And THANKS for not noticing the fingers : )

I don't know if I like the mixed style. Is there a reason for it? The skin tones are vintage Todd M. Your skill level is matched by only a few. If this is the way the model posed, the fingers ARE CORRECT!

No reason. I just like the simple line work against the painted look of mesh. Personal taste I guess : ) Thanks for the kind words.

i would agree with above, something just doesn't sit well with me in this piece...The fingers, nor the jeans, for me anyways. I agree with Eagle1 above, your skill can't be outdone, so CHEERS for trying things out...You should know I adore your work.
Take Care & I hope all is well!
