I have an MFA Degree in Illustration from Cal State Fullerton. I am also a digital illustration instructor at CSUF. I have been teaching there for almost 9 years now. I am also a computer graphics instructor at Santa Ana College, Orange Coast College and East LA College. (all of these are in southern California, of course) I am also a freelance illustrator and I am looking for gallery representation for my Limited-Edition Fine Art Giclee Prints of my Vector Art Motorcycle Portraits.
Red Indian Motorcycle
Description This was FOURTH Motorcycle Portrait. Done entirely in Illustrator CS with absolutely NO GRADIENTS, NO FILTERS, NO SPECIAL EFFECTS of any kind whatsoever... just a lot of little shapes created with the pen tool and the Pathfinder Palette. I picked this bike because it was a challenge to me to try and incorporate the surfaces of Chrome, Painted Metal and Leather all in one image... Let me know what you think. And be sure to check out my other motorcycle portraits as well... THANKS!

This particular illustration really captures the feel of the paint and metal. Very nice work and portfolio. You might submit directly to the motorcycle manufacturers for art representation. David Uhl is doing fine painting for Harley Davidson- you might look him up.

I met David Uhl and spent a day at his Denver studio several years ago. My experience tells me you have enough high quality work to approach him today. You're ready. Why wait?

WOW! having illustrated dozens of motorcycles myself I can appreciate the time and energy that goes into this, these are fantastic! If you don't mind me asking, how large of a document size do you work with and how big do the file sizes get?
Amazing work! Absolutely beautiful!

Thanks for the feedback Dan! To answer your questions, I work at about 16 X 20 inches in Illustrator. When I am done, I then select everything and resize the final artwork to around 22 inches Wide by 33 inches high. Amazingly, the final file sizes of my illustrator files when they are done are only around 7 - 8 MB. - Chris.

Very nice... the leather fringe is what really sets it off, nice against the chrome and gloss of the bike. Well done.

Thanks DSpring! I really liked the leather seat on this bike mainly because... I had never tried to render that type of surface texture. And, it created a nice contrast as you said, "against the chrome and gloss of the bike". Thanks for the comments. - Chris.
