Retired graphic artist, many years spent in the arts/media industry, but a recent convert to Illustrator and vector work.
But ho, ho those summer nites
Description This is my second attempt at painting with Illustrator. I didn't use either the path or pencil tools, only the brush tool, except for the filled background colour. Most of the brushes were made by myself and the rest are standard to Illustrator. Comments welcome.

Wow I'm so glad you like my style, I felt that true vector artists would think I should be doing these in Photoshop or Painter and not illustrator.

Not at all- The beauty of Illustrator is that it allows such a versatility of style. Keep doing what you're doing!

No No No... This is oil piece. However it looks like a very interesting one in illustrator. There is tons of landscapes done in photoshop it would look too commercial. Very few in illustrator. Very nice and original.
Brian, I absolutely love your oils especially Coast and Hill Farm.

Thanks a lot, I must admit I half expected to get nothing but abuse from the standard vector artists.

Well this is certainly a welcome change to typical illustrator art. Do you have a tablet to work with or is it all mouse?

Thanks a lot, yes I use a tablet now, but before we had tablets, I did all my work on screen using the mouse.

I crated my prowler illustration using the mouse. I know detail work takes quite a bit longer that way. Thank goodness for change...

I still revert to the mouse now and then, just like you for details. But I'd be lost without my Wacom tablet.
