the features are very nice (eyes and nose) but i think the face tone is a bit muddy.

Yeah controlling the mesh colors are tricky sometimes especially when it's a complex mesh. Only my second mesh and I should probably have the face only use a minimal amount of tones.

yeah it is tricky and i think thats the trick (less tones). that may be a technique that works when doing a face in any medium (digital or not).
