things that must look perfect to look right at all can be nearly impossible to eyeball off a photo. this is were working on a computer has its advantage. im talking about the spokes on the rims. what you can do is group one spoke with an outer circle and transform the whole thing (effect>transform) all youll need to adjust is the angle and copies. illustrator will do the math for us, so say you want 49 copies (50 spokes with the original) in the angle field enter 360/50 ("/"is the divide sign). click preview or okay and your done. a few things though, make your orignal spoke starting at the exact(smart guides) center and going vertically up, or down. also make sure your spoke doesnt excede the circle or the center point will be whacked (the reason we must group the circle and spoke is so the transform uses the circle center as the center point). finally, when you make your final expand youll have to delete all the extra circles (use your direct select, hold alt and draw a selection box that just clips all the circles, then delete)
