Was old school, pencils, pens and airbrush, now digital. My speciality is technical stuff for local industry and a national magazine. Been working with Illustrator since v3, but still don't understand most of it! Thank heavens for sites like this with experts and tutorials, or links to the knowledge.
Daytona 955i
Description Its been a bit quiet this week, so I've been playing. Still learning more about how to control the meshes. Other than meshes there's gradient fills and quite a lot of transparency work with some transparent masking.
The bike is a 2004 model year Triumph Daytona 955i from some shots I had lying around since I worked on the documentation for its launch (manuals etc).

Man this is awesome! I love that bike too. You did a great job on all the fine details, reflections, and gradients.

Thanks. I had the info to do a detailed job, but at times I thought it would never end - a bit like your hummingbird I guess (which is pretty cool).

I've got a friend with this bike and it's really distracting to go riding with him as it's such a graceful machine to look at. You did a great job with it! The body panels are well sculpted and the reflections on the pipe are perfect! Add a couple scuffs to the footpeg, some blue to the headers and a few bugs to the front and it'll look like you took it out for a ride =)

Thanks Dan. I'll have to draw up some leathers and a helmet and take it for a spin ;-) The reflections are a mixture of tight contrasting mesh work for the distant 'horizon' refiection and hard edged pen tool work with solid fills for the close-up bits reflected from the bike itself.
